What events do you offer?
All of our events can be found under the Events dropdown on the Showcases and Tournaments pages on our website. We offer:

What divisions are eligible for the event?
Divisions are based on the player's Graduation Year.

Players are always welcome to play up in older divisions
-
No high school graduates are eligible unless otherwise stated

Out-of-country middle school teams should contact Customer Support for assistance placing their team in the correct division

Please view the specific event webpage to see what divisions are offered for each event
Example: A player graduating in 2028 would play in the 2028 division (or older if playing up).

What is expected of spectators?
We expect all spectators to:

Display good sportsmanship

Respect referees' decisions (even if you disagree)

Use appropriate language

Stay in designated areas

Follow facility rules

Set a positive example for players

Spectator violations
Inappropriate behavior may result in:

Warning from tournament staff

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abuse of referees, players, or staff.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All participants must sign a waiver and release of liability:

Registration and Payment
-
How do I register for the event?
All players must register on our online platform. Here's the step-by-step process:

Visit buku.events and click on the event you want to register for
-
On the event page, click the green "Register Now" button
-
Sign into your Buku Events account (or create one if you're new)
-
Fill out all required information
-
Review your information for accuracy
-
Proceed to the billing page
-
Provide credit card information if a fee is required (if the player fee is $0, you will not be charged)
-
Click "Complete Registration"
-
You'll receive a confirmation email
Important: If registration is not completed through all steps, you will not be counted as registered for the event.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:

Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)

Debit cards

ACH/bank transfers (for some events)
All payments are processed securely through our payment processor.

When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of registration unless otherwise specified for your specific event. Some tournaments may offer payment plans - check your event details for availability.
Registration and payment are due Friday at midnight, two weeks prior to tournament weekend. Registration deadlines are listed for each event on our webpage as well as league apps.

Can I get a receipt for my payment?
Yes! You'll receive an automated receipt via email immediately after your payment is processed. You can also access your payment history through your Buku Events account.

Can I make changes to my roster after registration?
Yes:

More than 7 days before the event: Roster changes are free
-
Within 7 days of the event: $25 administrative fee applies
-
Day of the event: Changes must be approved by tournament director
All roster changes must be submitted through your account or at tournament check-in.

Can I transfer my registration to another team?
Team transfers may be approved with written permission from Buku Events:

Must be requested at least 14 days prior to the event
-
$50 administrative fee applies
-
Both teams must meet eligibility requirements
-
Transfer is subject to approval

What if I register for the wrong division?
Contact us immediately at info@bukulax.com. We'll work with you to move your team to the correct division if space is available. Division changes requested within 14 days of the event may be subject to an administrative fee.

Do you have medical supervision at your events?
Yes. Certified athletic trainers are on site during all games to provide:

Immediate injury assessment

Basic first aid treatment
-
Emergency response coordination
-
Medical guidance for coaches and families
For medical emergencies, 911 will be called immediately.

Can we set up tents or canopies?
Canopies and pop-up tents are generally permitted in designated areas, but:

Must not block walkways or emergency routes
-
Must be properly secured (stakes may not be allowed on some surfaces)

Must not obstruct views of fields
-
Must comply with facility-specific rules

Weather and Safety

What happens if there's bad weather?
Weather-related decisions prioritize player safety. Buku Events may:

Delay games until weather clears
-
Shorten games to catch up on schedule
-
Modify tournament format
-
Cancel or postpone the tournament

What is your lightning policy?
Lightning Safety is Non-Negotiable:
-
Play stops immediately when lightning is observed
-
All players/spectators must seek shelter (vehicles are safest)
-
Play resumes 30 minutes after the last lightning strike
-
Games in progress may be considered complete or resume at second half
Never remain on fields during lightning. Your safety is our priority.

What is weather insurance and should I buy it?
Weather insurance costs $200 per team and provides:

Full refund if the tournament is cancelled due to weather before any games are played
-
Peace of mind protection against unpredictable weather
Without weather insurance:
-
No refunds once tournament begins
-
Partial refund (50%) or credit if cancelled before tournament starts
We recommend weather insurance if:
- You're traveling a long distance
- Weather forecast looks uncertain
- You want financial protection

What if the tournament is cancelled due to weather?
With Weather Insurance ($200):

Without Weather Insurance:

How will we know about weather delays or changes?

We strongly recommend downloading the Tourney Machine app before the tournament.

What if a player gets injured?
-
Minor injuries: Each team should have basic first aid supplies
-
On-site medical: Certified athletic trainers are available during all games
-
Serious injuries: Notify tournament staff immediately
-
Medical emergency: Call 911 and notify tournament headquarters
-
Bleeding: Player must leave field for treatment before returning
-
Concussion suspected: Player must be removed immediately and cleared by medical professional before returning
All injuries requiring medical attention will be documented in an incident report.

What is your concussion protocol?
Player safety is paramount:

Any player suspected of having a concussion must be removed from play immediately
-
Player may NOT return to play without written clearance from a licensed healthcare provider
-
"When in doubt, sit them out"

Coaches and parents should know concussion symptoms
Signs of concussion: Headache, dizziness, confusion, memory problems, nausea, sensitivity to light/sound, balance problems.

When will the schedule be released?
Tournament schedules are typically released:

We do our best to accommodate scheduling requests, but cannot guarantee:

Submit requests early and we'll do what we can, but optimal schedule flow takes priority.

How do I contact tournament staff during the event?
On tournament day:

Approach any Buku Events staff member (wearing Buku gear)
For urgent matters, always go directly to tournament headquarters.
